What is the meaning of Namaste? We hear it so often at the end of yoga class. According to The Yoga Journal, the gesture Namaste represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra. The gesture is acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another.
At the end of each of my yoga classes I say "Namaste"
and most students repeat "Namaste" after me.
I then say "May the light and love within me bow to the light and love within you."
The traditonal Indian form of greeting is Namaste which literally means "I bow to the divine in you." The namaste is used for greeting, for saying good-bye and to seek forgiveness.
