Reiki is a Japanese healing technique which involves the transfer of energy from the practitioner to client to enhance the body’s natural ability to heal itself through the balancing of energy. It is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki is a simple, natural method of spiritual healing that everyone can use.
Reiki is used to promote the healing of chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, depression, addiction, the immune system, stress and more. It can complement your yoga practice by offering balance and strength.
The Reiki session typically lasts 45 to 90 minutes. On the first visit, some time is taken getting to know what issues you may want to work on.
You remain completely clothed, except for your shoes. Reiki is usually done lying down but can be done sitting up or from a distance. There may be some light hand touching but is not a massage. If you prefer no hand touching, just mention this. Feel comfortable asking any questions you may have.
